Just a quickie thought for you today as I know the holiday hustle-bustle is peaking right about now: Yes, the year is nearly over, but there are still 10 days left. I want to plant this seed with you: There’s still time to finish strong.
Think about a swimming race, a 100-yard dash, a basketball game—the winner is often determined in the final seconds. An outstretched finger or a lean forward can make all the difference.
I’m not talking about pushing yourself to do more than is wise. I’m talking about ending the year in a way that makes you feel great about how it all went down.
There’s a quirk of the human brain that makes you form your memories based on how something ends. It’s kind of like the beginning and middle parts get wiped out.
So, how do you want to feel about 2017 when you look back?
I know it’s been kind of a doozy of a year on the political and cultural front. But what were the personal goals you had in mind for this year? What could you do to feel like you finished strong on those goals? Even one or two little steps will help you feel proud of yourself.
And since my new book, How to Be a Better Person is coming out in just about 10 days (January 2nd is the official release date due to a printing error—it was supposed to come out yesterday) I’m going to finish my book promotion efforts strong by reminding you that there is still time to pre-order!
When you do, you get three goodies – the Where Do I Start? Self-Assessment, the Be a Better Person Pledge, and the ebook version of my first book, The Anywhere, Anytime Chill Guide. Two books for the price of one – woo hoo!
My husband also made an adorable book video for it, you can view that here:
Take care and happy winter solstice and holidays to you!
